Gage's use of 911 Mysteries is demonstrable proof of his utter lack of credibility and objectivity.

The use of a straw man argument is noted, and a lie told about Gene Corley is also exposed.

Slide #13/14 - VIDEO: 9/11 Myths from 911 Mysteries

This slide and this slide present a video clip. They otherwise are the same slide, and I will treat them together on this one page.

911 Mysteries

911 Mysteries is one of the most error-riddled films available to modern humanity. This is not a claim I make lightly. There are so many mistakes and lies in this film that an entire site, 911mysteriesguide.com, has been dedicated to exposing them. There you will find a most capable debunking of every mistake, both unintended and intended.

That's the worst part about this film - the intended mistakes. There are several outright lies committed by the filmmakers. One of their sources for original footage demonstrates that they added sounds of explosions and police radios to his footage. All in all, this site documents 371 errors in 911 Mysteries, including 79 instances of false information presented as fact.

Richard Gage is going to play several clips from this fraudulent film. Furthermore, he has revised this slideshow twice and continues to use this film, despite the lies and false information that it contains. He even continutes to advertise it in the final slides of this presentation.

If you are watching Gage live, this would be a good point to stand up and walk out. That's how utterly ridiculous his use of this film is, especially after he just called for objectivity. This is what he is using his expertise and his membership in AIA to support. This is what his vaunted 302 fellow professionals are convinced by.

You should not be. For a debunking of this section of 911 Mysteries, please go to this page.

The "Official Story"

One point I will make here is about what Gage and the makers of 911 Mysteries call the "official story."

Very often, what they are doing when they say "official story" is creating a straw man argument, "an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position." Instead of dealing with the actual statements and conclusions of official and scholarly studies, Gage will create his own version of the "official story" and disprove that. This is like building a straw effigy of a man, hanging it, and then pretending that you've actually hanged the man.

One great example of this here is the often repeated idea that the structural steel melted while the towers were standing. No official document or scholarly study states that structural steel melted, causing the collapse. And yet 911 Mysteries says that nonsense like this "bled into the FEMA report." It isn't there.

I've been in lots of discussions with people who believe in a controlled demolition hypothesis, and the vast majority of them cannot describe the actual collapse sequence as described by the NIST Final Report. Someone built a straw man of the NIST report before them and then tore the straw man to shreds. And now they think the NIST Report is false!

It's so much easier to disprove the official story when you get to tell your audience what the official story is. 911 Mysteries does this and Gage does this. They will tell you what the official story is without reference to actual official sources or statements.

Gene Corley's Quote

911 Mysteries says that a myth developed from official sources and was fed to the bewildered public by media sources. The myth "bled into the FEMA report and was echoed by the experts." The film then reproduces a quote from Gene Corley.

It was the combination of the impact load doing great damage to the building, followed by the fire, that caused collapse.

However, Gene Corley testified (pdf) as to exactly where he and his team got their ideas about what happened to the buildings: from examining the actual evidence.

To determine the sequence of events, likely root causes, and methods or technologies that may improve or mitigate the building performance observed, FEMA and ASCE formed a Building Performance Study (BPS) Team consisting of specialists in tall building design, steel and connection technology, fire and blast engineering, and structural investigation and analysis.

The SEI/ASCE team conducted field observations at the WTC site and steel salvage yards, removed and tested samples of the collapsed structures, viewed hundreds of images of video and still photography, conducted interviews with witnesses and persons involved in the design, construction, and maintenance of each of the affected buildings, reviewed available construction documents, and conducted preliminary analyses of the damage to the WTC towers.

Gene Corley wasn't listening to any "myth" about 9/11. This film is lying to you.
